Fran came to St. Columba's in March of 2019. As Indigenous Ministries Liaison, Fran has been helping St. Columba's in it's commitment to be a church that is serious about reconcilation and building bridges. Fran is an elder from the Quatsino nation (Gusgi'mukw) and is a fleunt speaker of Gut'sa and Kwak'wala. She has a passion for sharing her knowledge of the language and culture with others. Fran is a wonderful cook and baker and has been providing a weekly community meal after our Sunday service.
The Diocese of British Columbia acknowledges that for thousands of years the Coast Salish, Nuu-chah-nulth, and Kwakwaka’wakw peoples have walked gently on the unceded territories where we now live, work, worship, and play. We seek a new relationship with the first peoples here, one based in honour and respect, and we thank them for their hospitality.
The church building is closed due to COVID-19. The telephone is being checked at least once a day for messages.
